The First Tooth

Earlier this summer, Miranda had a great dentist visit.  She was a little nervous, but also pretty excited.

First they took some x-rays.

This freaked her out, but she sat like a champ!

Then the hygenist started cleaning the teeth.  Let me tell you, this lady was awesome with Miranda.  She had cute names for all the cleaning tools and explained everything in a way that Miranda could understand.

Miranda even got to wear Princess “Goggles” during the cleaning.

When the dentist came to check on Miranda, she gave us some pretty exciting news:  Miranda had 4, count them, 4 loose teeth!!  She said that all four should fall out within the next two months!!!  I knew then to make sure the Tooth Fairy had some extra cash lying around for the big day.

Now flash forward a couple of months.  In the middle of eating hamburgers at Bible Study, Miranda noticed that one of her loose teeth were missing!  We were soooo excited!  Well, except for the fact that the tooth was actually missing…

We looked everywhere, but we couldn’t find the tooth.  I felt terrible that one of my daughter’s teeth could possibly be laying around at a friend’s house, but what could we do??  We had bigger problems that that.  Miranda worried that without a tooth, the Tooth Fairy wouldn’t come and bring her a prize.

So, we decided to write a note explaining the situation and leave that under her pillow.

Bright and early the following morning, Miranda had $1.50 and a big smile.  I can’t wait for the other 3 teeth to fall out!
